Challenge
For 12 weeks, I was prompted to create a visual design for a mobile responsive platform that reimagines how people can search and find activities that reflect their interests. Also, focusing on a niche community that would benefit in using this mobile platform. Conducted competitive analysis research and brand development to produce high-fidelity designs.

Competitive Analysis & Takeaways
Concentrate on the use of hierarchy and the importance of composition.
The use of light tones for the background is essential to convey the feeling of balance.
Always be mindful on using bold texting to establish hierarchy. Don’t abuse it.
Having events that are similar to each other improves the user experience.
Direct & Indirect Brand Competitors
Visual Exploration for the Beekeeping Community
“Bee Savvy” was the ideal name for the mobile platform because it aligns the idea of using technology to learn more about the beekeeping community.
I've chosen the beekeepers because they have a thriving community in various social media platforms. The group constantly communicates with each other by giving advice on how to manage their hives. I knew having an event app that focuses on the interest of bees will strengthen their community even more.
Moodboards
Blue Honey
This board aimed on achieving the feel of a playful atmosphere while tying it with the importance of having a diverse community.
Bee School
I wanted to lean towards the feeling of humble beginnings and entering a grade school classroom on the first day of class.
Honey Business
This conveyed the feeling of a modern professional tone while connecting it to the essence of culture.

Exploring Style Tiles
Hexagon Style
The multiple colors were present to convey diversity. Utilizing the hexagon shape was the key factor of this style tile. It resembled the inner workings of a working hive. The logo design was slightly adjusted to test out different possible variations.
Circular Style
The main aspect of this style was the circular shape that connected the hexagonal buttons. It creates a unique layout for users to experience the mobile platform.
High Fidelity Mobile Design Walkthroughs
User Onboarding & Notifications
The user onboarding process focused on obtaining the users' login information, interests, and location. The notification section indicates if the user received any updates or news about upcoming events.
Events & Profile
The home page “Hive” allows users to browse through various events. The event buttons were shaped as hexagons to resemble a hive. Users could also select the heart feature to save certain events. After joining an event, users could visit their profile to view their upcoming events.
Bees
The “Bees” section was created after having the opportunity of speaking to a beekeeper. I've learned that they enjoy documenting wild honey bees. They want to have a feature that could help them identify the specific type of bees they find.
Conclusion
I've created a prototype mobile event app that focused on a specific niche community. While having the opportunity to speak with a beekeeper, they gave me more insight about their daily activities and interests. I created an added feature to document native bees.
